Marnie Ehlers is the owner and muse of Good Muse Designs. She is a Tucson, Arizona based jewelry artist, specializing in filigree silver jewelry. Her love of jewelry-making started as a hobby while working as a professional cake decorator. Marnie is a graduate of the California Institute of Jewelry Training, where she learned traditional jewelry making techniques, but when she picked up the metal clay syringe it was a magical way to combine her skills. Her designs combine the open, lacey, filigree syringe with traditional metal working techniques to create romantic and whimsical pieces that she hopes will inspire the wearer to approach life with a lighthearted spirit.
Marnie's love of making jewelry led her to start Good Muse Designs because she loves creating jewelry that speaks to each wearer on a personal level and reminds people that each one of us is our own unique person.
Her work is featured in several publications including Contemporary Metal Clay Rings, the PMC Guild Annual 2011, and the 2010 and 2112 Art and Designs of Metal Clay Jewelry calendars. She was also a finalist in the international Bead Dreams contest 2016 in the metal clay category.
Marnie is a graduate of the California Institute of Jewelry Training in Sacramento, California. She has worked with jewelers in Spokane, Washington; the Azores islands, Portugal; and Sacramento, California. She worked as a bench jeweler before moving to Tucson, AZ and opening Good Muse Designs jewelry studio. Her work has been displayed at Gay Odmark's gallery in Sun Valley Idaho, at the Westin La Paloma gift shop, and the Krikawa Jewelry Art Gallery, Many Hands Cooperative Gallery, all in Tucson, AZ. She is presently at the Southern AZ Arts Guild Gallery at La Encantada, Tucson AZ.
