I am a self-taught artist who grew up on a dairy farm in rural Michigan. My first love was painting landscapes with oil and acrylic. Country living and nature were my inspirations.
In my 40’s, I enjoyed painting hand-lettered vintage-inspired signs and folk art. Sometimes you will still see my hand-lettering in my latest work.
Today my paintings are colorful, funky, and whimsical with upbeat sayings, while my newest painting adventure is portrait painting with oils.
I love to share my talents with my neighbors and friends by having paint nights in my studio. These nights are not only about learning to paint, but friendship and laughter.
Since retiring to Arizona, while I continue to paint, I found pottery. Playing on the wheel has become my passion. Wheel thrown bowls, pots, and totems with hand painted flowers, desert scenes, mottos and songs are what I am crafting today.
I hope my work touches you and makes you happy in the same way it does me when I am in my studio creating for you.
